Tiered meetings are a cascade of short daily meetings across several organisational levels: Tier 1 in the team at the line, Tier 2 at department level, Tier 3 at site/management level. Deviations that can’t be solved at one level are escalated to the next — the same day.
The structure gives two flows: problems flow upward until someone can solve them; decisions and help flow downward. The time offset is the point — Tier 1 at 7:30, Tier 2 at 9:00, Tier 3 at 10:00 — so a floor problem can reach the executive team in under three hours.
The discipline decides the value: only deviations that require the level’s help are escalated (otherwise Tier 3 drowns in trivia), and every escalation gets a reply back — otherwise the floor stops escalating.
